The North Queensland Recorder Society was established in 1995 to bring together all recorder players in the Townsville and wider North Queensland region for skills development (through workshops, etc) and social playing.
Weekend residential workshops were held most years from the late 1990s onwards, initally at the Gumburu Environmental Education Centre at Paluma, then in a variety of venues before going overseas to Magnetic Island after 2015.
Here are photos from the 2010 workshop in Ingham and the associated schools workshop and concert in Townsville.
Websites old and new
The NQRS site was originally hosted at members.iinet.net.au/~mtattersall/NQRS but moved to new pages at http://nqrs.org.au/ in 2013.
Historical content on the iinet side was moved progressively to the new NQRS site and this site, i.e., malcolmtattersall.com.au/music/, as appropriate, and the old site was closed completely in May 2023.

- Newsletters from 2005 to 2013 are all on the new site at https://nqrs.org.au/pages/newsletter.php (you will need to scroll down).
- Pages on Malcolm Tattersall’s older website site which were shared by NQRS have either been replicated at https://nqrs.org.au/pages/resources.php or moved to this site.
